Jamie Wilson is the owner of JellyBeanQuilts.com, where she quilts full time, creating modern memory quilts out of baby clothes for customers around the world.
Jamie has always been a sewing fanatic, helping her mom create her Halloween costumes and learning how to sew the coolest biker shorts in the world courtesy of her grandma Eileen. An avid 4-Her, Jamie spent many a summers day creating crafty projects for the county fair (a pretty big deal in North Central Iowa, where Jamie grew up.) She developed her passion for quilting in high school; she even convinced her principal to let her make a quilt for credit as an independent study class!
She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Drake University, but not without bringing her sewing machine to college and earning the nickname “Martha Stewart” from her sorority sisters. (Jamie still takes this as the ultimate compliment, by the way.)
After college, Jamie worked in web design and internet marketing, got married, and started a family. After creating the first Jelly Bean Quilt from her son Erik’s clothes in 2004, she started making memory quilts for family and friends. In early 2008 she decided to turn her hobby into a business and developed her website, JellyBeanQuilts.com.
She now quilts full-time (and then some!) from her home just north of Phoenix, and has created hundreds of Jelly Bean Quilts for customers across the United States, and even as far away as Australia, Canada, Luxembourg, Dubai, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and the UK.
Jelly Bean Quilts is located in the amazing community of Anthem, Arizona – about 10 minutes north of Phoenix. If you are located in the Phoenix area, you can definitely drop off your clothing & pick up your quilt instead of shipping – just contact me to get my home address & arrange a time!
